About

Hi, I’m Xiangzhi Kong—X. Kong for short.

I write about technology, business and investment, taking a long-term view of how innovation, corporate strategy and capital markets shape one another.

My focus is on the business models, incentives and strategic choices beneath the surface—why they matter, what they reveal about a company or industry, and how their effects may unfold over time.

More broadly, I am interested in how innovation reshapes industries, how companies respond and where durable value is created.

My background includes work in media. I hold an MA in International Relations from King’s College London.

This site is where I publish independent analysis and longer-form essays, developing these ideas in greater depth and in my own voice.
